PETRA® Slab Hanger is used for supporting hollow-core slabs and creating openings within hollow-core slab floors. PETRA® offers a unique technical solution that combines the advantages of a standardized product with the ability to address applications that typically require careful static analyses and customized structural solutions.
PETRA® comprises an L-shaped steel front plate welded together with side plates. Typically, PETRA® is suspended between two parallel slabs, with the front plate providing support for one or more slabs. PETRA® is specifically designed to provide support for slabs during assembly, normal use, and even in fire situations, eliminating the need for temporary supports or propping.
PETRA® is available in various standard models that are pre-dimensioned to match the characteristics of most hollow-core slabs found in the European market. PETRA® and PETRA® Strong Slab Hangers can effectively support hollow-core slabs up to 500 mm for creating openings, and standard PETRA® models can easily accommodate spans of up to 10 m. Special models are also available for hollow-core slabs with bathroom recesses or cases where adjacent slabs have different heights. If the existing standard models are not suitable, please contact Peikko's Technical Support to explore customized PETRA® solutions.
PETRA® is designed to support hollow-core slabs up to 500 mm thick for making openings. Standard PETRA® is used to support slabs with length 4-6 m.
Comprehensive product information and detailed information on product characteristics, resistances and required operating conditions are available on product’s Technical Manual.
PETRA® Strong model is used to support longer slabs or slabs with high imposed loads. PETRA® Strong is designed to support hollow-core slabs up to 500 mm thick for making openings and spans up to 10 m are easily supported with standard PETRA® Strong.
Comprehensive product information and detailed information on product characteristics, resistances and required operating conditions are available on product’s Technical Manual.
PETRA® Special solutions are used when standard PETRA® models are not sufficient or the structural conditions of the hollow-core floor differ from those assumed in the design of standard PETRA® models.
