Reopened after a major reconstruction, it combines modern functionality, durability, and contemporary architectural design. Today, the terminal serves not only as an essential transport hub connecting Klaipėda and the Curonian Spit, but also as an attractive public space for residents and visitors.
The renovated building meets Energy Class A efficiency requirements and has been designed to accommodate visitors with diverse accessibility needs. It features modern passenger waiting areas and administrative facilities, while the surrounding environment includes parking spaces and publicly accessible recreational areas along the Curonian Lagoon. These solutions have strengthened the connection between the site and the waterfront while ensuring the building integrates harmoniously into the urban landscape.
Peikko Lietuva contributed to the project by designing and manufacturing DELTABEAM® Composite Beams, which were integrated into a steel truss system and used for floor structures above vehicle passageways and pedestrian walkways. This solution enabled the implementation of a complex spatial structure, maintained open and functional interior spaces, and provided greater architectural flexibility. The total length of the installed beams reached 415 m.
The project was delivered in close collaboration with the general contractor, UAB Infes. This successful partnership ensured efficient coordination of technical and construction solutions throughout the design and construction phases. By combining the expertise of all project stakeholders, the team achieved a high-quality solution that met both the functional and architectural goals of the project while ensuring its smooth execution at every stage.
